If you're curious about microneedling, how it works, and whether it hurts, keep reading. At True Medispa in Twickenham, we offer gentle, effective microneedling treatments, making every effort to ensure your experience is as comfortable as possible.

Dermapen™ is the latest in microneedling technology, designed to lift, tighten and rejuvenate the skin. This treatment is effective in reducing wrinkles and fine lines, as well as improving the appearance of acne and scars.

It works by creating tiny punctures on the top layer of skin, which promote healing and stimulate collagen reproduction. Microneeding is similar to laser treatments and chemical peels — but without any side effects or downtime.

Please note: A consultation is required before your first session, in order to asses your skin type and create a tailored treatment plan. The initial session costs £30, and is redeemable against the treatment price and any after care products you purchase.

Please contact our expert team by calling our Twickenham beauty & aesthetics salon on 020 8892 7999 or book online today.

What Does Dermapen Microneedling Feel Like?

Dermapen Microneedling for Men In TwickenhamDuring a Dermapen microneedling treatment, tiny needles are used to create micro-channels in the skin, triggering your body’s natural healing process. The sensation is often described as a mild 'scratching' or 'tingling sensation', particularly on more sensitive areas like the forehead.

At True Medispa, your comfort is our number one priority. That's why we always apply a topical numbing cream before each session begins. This helps to significantly reduce any discomfort or stinging during the treatment itself.

Is Microneedling More Painful on Certain Areas?

Some areas of the face are naturally more sensitive than others. You can expect mild discomfort if you receive microneedling on your forehead, nose, cheeks, jawline or neck area, as the skin tends to be thinner on these parts. But don't worry, we'll apply numbing cream throughout the session. We'll also tailor the needle depth and technique to suit your skin type and tolerance, ensuring a comfortable experience with optimal results.

In order to prepare for your session, avoid exfoliating in the days leading up to your treatment. It's also essential that you avoid retinoids and antibiotics for at least a week before each session. If you use acne medications, you may need to discontinue use for up to a month beforehand.

For best results after each session, always use the aftercare products recommended by our skin experts at True Medispa in Twickenham, including apply SPF when going outside. Avoid hot water or saunas for at least 48 hours, as well as any unnecessary contact with the treated area. Do not sunbathe with your face directly in the sun for about two weeks after each session.
